She has prosecuted and tried a variety of cases, including but not limited to burglary, carjacking, robbery, third strike cases, theft-related offenses, drug-related offenses and driving under the influence.

Ms. Haber also was specifically trained to handle domestic violence, crimes against children and sexual assault cases and has worked in many areas throughout Los Angeles County, including the Clara Shortridge Folz Criminal Justice Center in downtown L.A., Beverly Hills, East Los Angeles, San Fernando, Sylmar and Van Nuys.

Upon joining the Law Offices of Jeffery K. Rubenstein in 2006, Susan Haber has zealously defended many of the firm’s felony and misdemeanor cases by filing and arguing motions as well as having conducted extensive trial work. She has researched, written, and argued a variety of motions in California state courts, including but not limited to:

  • Motions to suppress seized evidence
  • Motions to suppress statements made to law enforcement
  • Motions to quash or traverse search warrants
  • Motions to reduce felony convictions to misdemeanors
  • Motions to expunge prior felony and/or misdemeanor convictions
  • Motions to sever multiple defendants from being tried with one another
  • “Pitchess” motions

As her criminal law experience and prowess clearly indicate, Ms. Haber’s ability to carefully analyze case facts and aptly apply them to California law makes her very successful in prevailing on many different types of cases. Fluent in Spanish, her experience as a prosecutor gives her a sharp strategic edge, whether it’s tenaciously arguing on a client’s behalf in the courtroom or careful guidance throughout the other steps of the legal process.

In addition to years of accomplished service in the legal field, Ms. Haber has volunteered for over a decade for Alpha Phi Fraternity, an international women’s organization, where she has conducted lectures and seminars on a variety of subjects.
